Deezbaa O'Hare

Deezbaa Andrea O’Hare is Diné (Navajo), Paiute, Shoshone, Ute, and Irish and Swedish. Born in Shiprock, NM. Daughter of Teresa Begay and Bryan O’Hare. Granddaughter of Helen Smith-Begay (Naakaii Dine’é) and Fred Begay, PhD, Clever Fox (Táchii'nii), and Thomas and Janice O’Hare. Deezbaa is an Indigenous birthkeeper, student midwife that walks in alignment with birth as ceremony, embracing families with support, kinship, heart centered and holistic care. She has completed midwifery skills, doula and Indigenous birthkeeper trainings. For the past eight years, she has facilitated healing and nurturance circles. Deezbaa has worked with Indigenous community-led wellness programs focused on foodways, cultural knowledge sharing, traditional ecological knowledge, rematriation and sovereignty. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Fort Lewis College. As part of the Alaska Native Birthworkers Community team, she is grateful and excited to support families in Alaska, offering pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum support.
