Erin Edenshaw
Iñupiaq
Erin Taylor Aliqataaq Nanuaq Edenshaw is joining the ANBC team to offer supportive services in Fairbanks, AK!
This is the first Indigenous Birth Helper position ANBC has hired outside of Anchorage, and we are so excited for this growth milestone to increase access to our care across the state! Erin, Inupiaq from Kotzebue, is named for both her maternal and paternal great-great-grandmothers.
Erin has an extensive family tree in Ft. Yukon and other areas of the Interior whom she is gratefully reconnecting with. She has participated in trainings hosted by ANBC since 2022, including: Indigenous Childbirth Educator, Indigenous Full Spectrum Birth Helper and Landback: Lactation Education for Indigenous Birth Helpers, and also has a background in behavioral health as a Substance Use Counselor.
Erin states “I have been motivated by a strong desire to help others. I want to leave the world a safer and better place than when I arrived. I try to live the Iñupiat Ilitqusiat in my daily life and incorporate those values into my work.”
